Jonathan Rothberg is a trustee at Carnegie Mellon University and the founder, chairman, CTO, and CEO of Quantum-Si. Jonathan is also the inventor of the first semiconductor chip for DNA sequencing and published in Nature the first post-light genome. In addition, Rothberg has won the Connecticut Medal of Technology for inventing the first semiconductor-based DNA sequencing technology and has decoded the genome of Gordon Moore of Moore's law fame. Jonathan has also been recognized as a 2011 World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer.
Jonathan Rothberg attended Carnegie Mellon University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Jonathan then attended Yale University, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Biology.
