Karl Bates

Karl Bates is a PhD student at Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in multimodal signal sensing of neural tissue in the peripheral nervous system, aimed at addressing chronic pain. Currently serving as a Test & Data Analysis Engineer at K-IV, LLC, Karl has streamlined FDA 510(k) submissions and automated project bidding processes. Previous experience includes managing a cross-disciplinary team at LTA Research and leading test engineering efforts, where Karl implemented automated analysis and established strategic third-party lab relationships.
