Laura Snyder

Laura Snyder is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in higher education and agency roles. Currently serving as the Senior Director for Research Communications at Carnegie Mellon University since September 2023, Laura is responsible for developing an integrated communications strategy to support the university's significant research initiatives. Prior to this role, Laura had a long tenure at RW Jones Agency, where responsibilities included strategic counsel, media relations, and mentoring a team of over 20 staff members. Laura has held various leadership positions within the agency, focusing on public relations, crisis communications, and client development, while also establishing training programs for scholars. Earlier career experience includes freelance writing for Fun Online Corp. and reporting for Morrisons Cove Herald. Laura holds a BA in English from Penn State University.
