A. John Hart

Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity, and the Center for Additive and Digital Advanced Production Technologies – Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Dr. Hart is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (“MIT”). He is also the Director of the MIT Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity, and the MIT Center for Additive and Digital Advanced Production Technologies (APT). Dr. Hart joined the MIT faculty in 2013. He has worked extensively with industry via his research and as a consultant, and is a co-founder of Desktop Metal, Inc. and VulcanForms, Inc.

Dr. Hart earned his master’s and Ph.D. degrees from MIT, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. He has received numerous awards for his research and teaching accomplishments.
