Shawn Phillips

Shawn R. Phillips has extensive experience in the funeral and cemetery industry, currently serving as Senior Vice President and Regional Partner-Central at Carriage Services since September 2007. Previously, Shawn held the position of Managing Director - Midwest at Service Corporation International (SCI) following SCI's acquisition of Alderwoods Group/Loewen Group in November 2006. Shawn has a longstanding career with Alderwoods Group, beginning in April 1993 as Vice President Operations for the West and Central Regions, and prior to that, as Vice President of Operations at Loewen Group International. Early career experience includes serving as Area Manager at SCI and managing several funeral home and cemetery businesses at Pierce Brothers Mortuaries. Shawn began in the industry as an Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer at Custer Christiansen Mortuary. Educational credentials include a degree in Mortuary Science from Cypress College, completed in 1984.
