Chun-An (Andy) Chen began their work experience as a Research Scientist at The Ohio State University in July 2010. After two years in that role, they became an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in July 2012. During their time there, they focused on researching cardiovascular diseases, specifically ischemia reperfusion injury, oxygen free radicals, antioxidants, stem cells, and gene therapies. Chun-An (Andy) also taught GI physiology. Chen remained in this role until December 2018. In December 2018, they joined CAS as an Information Scientist, and they are currently serving in that position.
Chun-An (Andy) Chen began their education journey by earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from National Sun Yat-Sen University from 1988 to 1992. Chun-An (Andy) then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Organic Chemistry from the same university from 1992 to 1994. Continuing their academic pursuits, Chun-An went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry from The Ohio State University from 1998 to 2004.
In addition to their formal education, Chun-An Chen has also obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge.
