Chun-Der Lee has a diverse work experience in various scientific roles. In 2009, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at National Tsing Hua University, where they synthesized β-amino thiol (-)-MITS and used it as a chiral ligand. From 2012 to 2012, they served as a Research Assistant at Academia Sinica, where they applied molecular cloning techniques and utilized fluorescence microscopy to study mutated MinC, MinD, and MinE proteins. At Case Western Reserve University, Chun-Der worked as both a Graduate Research Assistant and a Graduate Teaching Assistant. In their research role, they fabricated magnetic nanoparticles and a multilayered bio-composite film and conducted various physical property analyses. As a teaching assistant, they taught Principles of Chemistry and Biochemistry/Molecular Biology. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Graduate Research Associate at The Ohio State University, and during the same period, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Associate. In these roles, they taught General Chemistry I and II, instructed General Chemistry I Lab, and managed multiple recitation sections. Chun-Der then joined American Regent, Inc. as an Analytical Chemist II in 2017. In this role, they developed HPLC analytical methods for drug substances and conducted analysis of degradation/impurities in finished products. Chun-Der currently works as an Information Scientist at CAS, starting in 2019.
Chun-Der Lee's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry from National Tsing Hua University, which was obtained from 2007 to 2011. Chun-Der then pursued a Master's Degree in Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University from 2013 to 2015. Finally, Chun-Der completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology from The Ohio State University from 2015 to 2016.
