Cascadia Motion
Cascadia Motion is a wholly owned subsidiary of BorgWarner focusing on electric vehicles for niche & emerging volume applications. Cascadia Motion was formed through acquisition of Rinehart Motion Systems and AM Racing Inc, both Oregon (USA) companies. Cascadia Motion develops and manufactures inverters, traction motors, and geartrains used in a variety of electric vehicle applications ranging from Formula One to heavy duty on-highway truck. The company offers a portfolio of integrated electric drive module to reduce the barrier of entry and time to market for new electric vehicle platforms. The electric drive modules include both 2:1 inverter-motor and 3:1 inverter-motor-gearbox solutions. Product datasheets, CAD models, and integration manuals are available for download from the company’s website. When annual unit volumes scale to double digit thousands, individual customer programs can be “graduated” to high-volume BorgWarner production facilities globally.
