Leila Clavijo, LMSW, currently serves as a Clinical Court Liaison at The Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES) since February 2024. Prior to this role, Leila held various positions at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, including Care Team Assistant Director, Senior Afterschool Counselor, and Junior - Head Counselor from May 2015 to February 2024. Additional experience includes a Forensic Social Work Internship at The Legal Aid Society in the Criminal Defense Practice from November 2022 to May 2023, and a Social Work Internship at Sauti Yetu Center for African Women, Inc. focused on Violence Against Women and Girls from October 2021 to May 2022. Earlier experience includes an internship at The Jeevan School in late 2019. Leila holds a Master of Social Work degree from NYU Silver School of Social Work (2021-2023) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Baruch College (2017-2021), with study abroad in Varanasi, India, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Educational background also includes a High School Diploma in Law and Society from Brooklyn Technical High School (2013-2017).

The mission of CASES is to increase the understanding and use of community sanctions that are fair, affordable, and consistent with public safety. CASES serves nearly 4,000 individuals annually in programs lasting anywhere from one day to more than two years. Their programs are aimed at high-need populations, including young people, adults with mental illness, and chronic misdemeanants who are homeless, drug-addicted, or underemployed.
