Krishna Kaliannan has extensive work experience, beginning in 2009. In that year, they worked as a Summer Intern at Swift Engineering, where they created a series of excel spreadsheets to calculate the approximate miles-per-gallon (mpg) of a hybrid, electric or gas-powered vehicle. Krishna then worked as a Summer Analyst at QED Benchmark Fund in 2010, where they developed and tested stock selection strategies using quantitative and technical analysis. In 2011 and 2012, they worked as a Summer Analyst at J.P. Morgan. In 2013, they worked as a Researcher at AQR Capital Management. In 2014, they Co-Founded and became CEO of PropelIQ. In 2015, they Founded Thrive Responsible Insurance. Finally, in 2017, they Founded and became CEO of Catalina Crunch.
Krishna Kaliannan completed their education at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Master of Systems Engineering (MSE) and a Bachelor of Systems Engineering and Mathematics (BSE) between 2009 and 2013. During this time, they also earned a Bachelor of Systems Engineering in Statistics from The Wharton School. Krishna additionally took courses in Mathematics at Stanford University. Krishna is also a Licensed Property & Casualty Broker/Agent, certified by the California Department of Insurance.
