Vanessa Knapton

Vanessa Knapton has extensive experience in the rail industry, starting with their current position as the Senior Vice President of Sales at Cathcart Rail. In this role, they lead sales and business development for a large repair agent network, operating across multiple locations for railroads. Vanessa also manages an independent repair network.

Prior to their current position, Vanessa worked as the Director of Repair Sales at The Andersons, Inc., overseeing commercial development for a leading repair agent company. Vanessa was responsible for forecasting operations, cost planning, and implementing deals in this niche space.

Before that, Vanessa served as the Director of Sales at Harbor Rail Services Company, where they established and branded the organization on a national level. Vanessa focused on high ROI business and developed strong customer relationships.

Vanessa also has experience in logistics and transportation, previously working as the Rail Logistics Manager at C and F Foods, Inc. In this role, they negotiated freight rate contracts and saved the company a significant amount of money.

Vanessa'scareer in the rail industry began at BNSF Railway Company, where they held various positions including Trainmaster and Conductor/Brakeman. Vanessa oversaw day-to-day operations at major ports and managed logistics and labor planning.

Vanessa's career started as a legal analyst at Atlantic Richfield Company.

Vanessa Knapton pursued their higher education, starting with their Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College. Vanessa attended Smith College between 1987 and 1991, focusing on the fields of Government and Political Economy. After completing their undergraduate studies, Vanessa decided to further their knowledge by obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. From 2005 to 2007, they attended Chapman University, specializing their studies in Operations and Finance.
