Gary Monroe serves as President, COO, and Board Member at The Caton Companies since July 2022, overseeing a family-owned enterprise with over four hundred employees and a diversified portfolio across more than seventy real estate assets. As the Founder of Monroe Advisors LLC, Gary provides independent direction and advisory services to family enterprises. In addition, Gary holds the position of Board Chair and Strategy Advisor at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Family Enterprise Center, focused on fostering sustainable family businesses. Gary's extensive experience includes leadership roles at Brentwood Advisory, The Riverstone Group, Gilder Office for Growth, and SIRCHIE Fingerprint Laboratories, with a strong foundation in management and finance from an MBA at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a BE in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
