Michael Johnson has a strong background in risk management and banking, with over 35 years of experience. Michael is currently serving as the Senior Vice President & Chief Risk Officer at CBI Bank & Trust. Prior to this, they held the same position at Central Bancshares Inc. from 2011 to 2021. Before joining Central Bancshares, Michael worked as Vice President at Two Rivers Financial Group from 1996 to 2011. Michael started their career in the banking industry as an Examiner at the Iowa Division of Banking from 1984 to 1996.
Michael Johnson CERP, CRCM obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance, General from Iowa State University, where they studied between 1979 and 1983. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained certifications in the following areas: Certified Enterprise Risk Professional from the American Bankers Association, which they achieved in June 2022, and Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, also from the American Bankers Association, which they obtained in October 2008.
