Cara Tabachnick is a seasoned journalist and editor with extensive experience in both leadership and reporting roles. Currently serving as News Editor at CBS News since January 2023, Cara also holds the position of Director at the Journalism Centre on Global Trafficking, where the focus is on creating a media resource network for journalists covering trafficking issues globally. Throughout a freelance career spanning nearly two decades, Cara has contributed articles to major publications such as the Washington Post, Bloomberg Businessweek, and the Wall Street Journal. Previous roles include Senior Associate for Media Programs at the Population Reference Bureau, Managing Editor at The Crime Report, and News Reporter at Newsday. Cara holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Public Policy from CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies.
