Carissa Lawson is a seasoned news anchor and on-air contributor currently serving CBS News since December 2023, where responsibilities include fill-in anchoring for CBS Mornings and breaking news coverage across all platforms. Prior experience includes anchoring morning news at News 12 Networks from February 2011 to June 2023, where Carissa hosted celebrity interviews and contributed to successful newscast ratings. Additionally, Carissa was a Newspath anchor and correspondent for CBS News, covering health stories and national news from December 2010 to February 2011, and anchored evening news at WLKY-TV in Louisville from March 2006 to December 2010. Carissa began a career in broadcasting as evening news anchor at WWAY-TV from July 2002 to December 2005 after starting as a morning anchor. Academically, Carissa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from New York University.
