Prior to Quibi, Thomas was the DC Bureau Chief, Senior Producer, and Correspondent for VICE News Tonight on HBO, where significant political stories were covered. Thomas's career also includes a decade at NBC News, working in various roles such as Senior Producer at Meet the Press, White House Producer, and Capitol Hill Producer. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Communication from The George Washington University.
