Jan Vinjé

Head, National Calicivirus Laboratory at CDC

Jan Vinjé is an accomplished virologist with extensive experience in leading important laboratory and research initiatives. Currently serving as the Head of the National Calicivirus Laboratory at CDC Atlanta since February 2006, Jan has contributed significantly to the field of food and water safety through participation on advisory boards for various European projects from 2006 to 2012. Prior to this, Jan held positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Research Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow from September 2000 to February 2006, after completing a postdoctoral position at RIVM from 1999 to 2000. Jan earned a Ph.D. in Virology from Utrecht University between 1995 and 1999 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from HMLS in 1980.
