Maya Koronyo-Hamaoui

Maya Koronyo-Hamaoui is a prominent academic and researcher at Cedars-Sinai, where since July 2009, Maya has held various positions including Professor of Neurosurgery and Biomedical Sciences, and Executive Research Scientist III. As the head of the Alzheimer's Disease Research Lab, Maya focuses on neuroimmunology and neuro-ophthalmology, aiming to advance diagnosis and treatment for Alzheimer's disease through immune-modulation and the study of innate immune cells. Prior to this role, Maya served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Weizmann Institute of Science, specializing in neuroimmunology and neurodegenerative disorders. Maya holds a BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. in Biology, Human Molecular Genetics, Neuromuscular Disorders, and Psychiatric Genetics from Tel Aviv University.
