Jim Cohen

Jim Cohen is a seasoned venture capitalist and educator currently serving as a Board Observer at Sensetics, Inc. and PATH EX, Inc. since April 2025, as well as an Investor and Board Observer for Tendo Technologies and Celestial AI. As a Co-Founder and General Partner of Fitz Gate Ventures since 2015, Jim plays a crucial role in an early-stage venture capital firm that invests in innovative startups with a focus on meaningful partnerships, including Rice University as an anchor investor. In academia, Jim has lectured at Princeton University Graduate School since 2018, teaching a seminar on startups and venture capital finance, and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Rice Business - Jones Graduate School of Business. Jim's investment portfolio highlights a diverse range of companies including Overtime, Optimal Dynamics, and SmartAsset. Jim holds a Juris Doctor degree from New York University School of Law and an AB, Cum Laude, in Politics from Princeton University, alongside a high school diploma with highest honors from The Lawrenceville School.
