Michelle Nelson has over 10 years of work experience. In 2021, they began working as an Operations Manager and Research Manager at Loyal / Cellular Longevity. From 2018 to 2021, they were a Research Associate III and Research Associate, Molecular Biology at CODA Biotherapeutics. In 2018, they were a Volunteer at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, where they worked in both the Herrick campus outpatient physical therapy department with a specialization in neurological conditions and the Telegraph campus outpatient physical therapy department with a specialization in orthopedics. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Dental Assistant and Dental Intern at Advanced Dental Care, where they improved standard operating procedures for a variety of treatments and increased the efficiency of standard operating procedures for production of night guards and retainers. From 2013 to 2016, they were a Laboratory Assistant at UC Davis, where they determined tissue localization of SynDIG4 and earned co-authorship on a paper. In 2010, they were a Student Researcher at the Bridge to Employment (Silicon Valley) Program, where they collaborated with two fellow interns to modify the metabolic mechanism of Pseudomonas Putida and publicly presented results in a poster presentation.
Michelle Nelson has a diverse educational background. Michelle graduated from Evergreen Valley High School in 2012 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from the University of California, Davis in 2016. In 2021, they earned a Certificate of Project Management from UC San Diego Extended Studies. Additionally, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from UC San Diego Extended Studies in November 2021.
