Gibbs McKinley possesses a diverse background in research and program coordination within the fields of international security and diplomacy. Currently serving as a Research Associate to the CEO at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), Gibbs has previously held roles such as Senior Graduate Research Assistant at The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and Senior Program Associate at the International Republican Institute. Additional experience includes contributions as a Joseph S. Nye, Jr. National Security Researcher at CNAS, an intern at The Brookings Institution, and a Patterson Fellow at the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce. Gibbs holds a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honors in Modern History from the University of St Andrews and a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Commerce from the University of Kentucky.
