John Flanagan is an experienced energy engineer currently serving as Energy Engineer II at the Center for Energy and Environment since August 2023. Previously, John held several roles including Associate Energy Solutions Engineer I at Xcel Energy, where involvement in demand-side management focused on energy efficiency incentives, and Verification Specialist Intern at Willdan, learning measurement and verification procedures for energy programs. John also completed an internship with Buro Happold, gaining insights into built-environment mechanical engineering, and a mechanical engineering co-op with HGA Architects and Engineers, where skills in HVAC design were developed. Additionally, John worked as a Drumline Instructor for ISD 197, fostering communication and leadership skills while mentoring students in music. John holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
