In addition, the center examines the short- and long-term impacts of proposed policies on the health of the economy and the soundness of federal and state budgets.The center is dedicated to improving government policies toward low- and middle-income Americans and ensuring that the government has the resources to meet its responsibilities and address critical needs. It also helps other non-profit organizations in Washington, D.C. and across the country participate effectively in policy debates over budget priorities and reduce poverty and inequality.Center on Budget and Policy Priorities was founded in December 1981 and is based in Washington, District of Columbia.
