Central Basin MWD meets the water needs of more than 2 million people by working closely with cities, retail agencies and community-based groups to develop innovative and reliable water delivery solutions. Each year, Central Basin provides imported water and recycled water to its 227 square mile service area - a region that extends across 24 cities and unincorporated parts of Los Angeles County. As we look to the future, our focus remains on the development of projects and programs that will secure the regional water supply and promote the importance of conservation, education and recycling. The District is the fifth largest member agency of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
