Eric Petersen

Eric Petersen is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of neuroscience, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Central Michigan University since March 2022. Prior to this role, Eric was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Michigan State University, where the focus was on engineering novel proteins for optically reporting neuronal activity using advanced synthetic biology techniques. Eric's academic journey includes a PhD and Master of Science in Neuroscience, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, all from Central Michigan University. Eric's research has addressed rehabilitation methods for spinal cord injuries, particularly through the use of electrical stimulation to promote lasting changes in neural function. Additional experience includes a management role in retail sales at AutoZone, providing a well-rounded skill set beyond the academic realm.
