Ian Bird

Ian Bird is a distinguished physicist with extensive experience in particle physics and computing. Serving as a Senior Staff Scientist at CERN since September 2002, Ian has contributed significantly to major scientific advancements. Prior to this role, Ian was the Head of the Computing Group at Jefferson Lab from September 1996 to August 2002. Ian holds a Ph.D. in Particle Physics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, obtained between 1989 and 1992, and undergraduate education from Lancaster University from 1973 to 1976.
