Ying Cai's work experience begins with a summer internship at Engineered Seal Products in 2006. Ying then joined Saint-Gobain Abrasives in 2007 as a Senior Research Engineer, and later served as a Research Associate and R&D Manager. In 2018, they joined CertainTeed as the R&D Director for CertainTeed Gypsum, and currently holds the position of Vice President of Research & Development for CertainTeed Interior Product Group.
Ying Cai obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Polymer Science and Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology in 1998. Later, from 2001 to 2006, they pursued a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Polymer at the University of Iowa.
