Charles Shopsin has worked in the software engineering field for over 20 years. Charles began their career in 1995 as a Software Developer at JRiver, Inc. where they were the primary client developer of Internet Rover, a Windows based FTP client and software distribution platform, as well as portions of a UNIX based commerce server and Buy Button, a Windows component that provided secure copy protection, purchasing and payment services. In 1997, they worked as a Software Developer at System Management Software, where they designed and developed the Windows version of Roman Scheduler, a tool for scheduling call-center staffing requirements. That same year, they also worked at Liquid Digital as a Web Software Developer, developing the New Balance Product Catalog, a product management system. In 2000, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Statia FX, where they delivered two versions of a wealth management portal and developed a transactional accounting system for calculating financial performance. From 2003 to 2013, they were a Senior Software Engineer at EISI, where they were the primary developer of the middleware and data layers for a project, as well as a robust database install, upgrade and migration tool. Finally, they have been a Senior Software Engineer at Chain.io since 2018.

Charles Shopsin attended the University of Minnesota from 1993 to 1996, studying Computer Science.
