Behnam Robatmili

Behnam Robatmili is a seasoned professional in machine learning and distributed systems with extensive experience in data infrastructure and engineering. Currently serving as a Staff ML Ops Engineer at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative since March 2023, Behnam focuses on abstracting large-scale machine learning systems. Previously, at Meta, Behnam led the adoption of Velox for Spark backend as a Data Infrastructure Engineer, while at Facebook, efforts were directed towards feature engineering platforms. As a co-founder and CTO of Bigstream, optimization techniques were applied to enhance Big Data and Machine Learning workflows. Behnam's early career included significant research roles at Qualcomm Research Silicon Valley, contributing to the development of advanced parallel and multicore environments, complemented by a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, which specialized in power-efficient multicore processor designs.
