Carly Strasser is a highly experienced professional in the field of open science and data strategy, currently serving as a Senior Program Manager for Open Science at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative since May 2020. Previously, Carly held roles including Director of Alliances and Data Strategy at Fred Hutch, where strategic initiatives for data-intensive research were established, and Director of Strategic Development at Coko, focusing on open source infrastructure for research communication. Earlier experience includes a Program Officer role for a $60M initiative at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, as well as positions at DataCite and the California Digital Library promoting data stewardship and open science. With a strong academic background, Carly earned a PhD in Biological Oceanography from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BA in Marine Science from the University of San Diego.
