Dannielle McCarthy, PhD, is currently serving as a Senior Product Applications Scientist at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative since September 2021. Previously, McCarthy held roles at Stanford University, including Graduate Student in the Department of Chemistry from June 2017 to August 2021, and various positions focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion within academic settings. McCarthy co-led the Chemistry Association in the Interest of Minority Students and facilitated significant DEI events, such as a 300-person Anti-Racist Town Hall. McCarthy has also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of California San Diego and the University of California, Berkeley, contributing to multiple peer-reviewed papers in the field of chemistry. McCarthy earned a PhD in Biophysical Chemistry from Stanford University, building on a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
