Alex Franks

Alex Franks is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and independent legal consulting. Currently a Partner at Chapman Tripp since August 2020, Alex previously served as a Senior Associate at Chapman Tripp and as an independent consultant at WCL Legal, providing expertise on significant transactions in Africa, including the sale of Tigo Chad and the IPO of Helius Towers. Prior to that, Alex held a Senior Associate position at Clifford Chance LLP, which included an 18-month secondment in Sao Paulo, focusing on M&A across Latin America. Alex's career began at Russell McVeagh, escalating from Graduate to Senior Solicitor over four years. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) in Economics from the University of Otago.
