Cheng Zhang has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Starting in 2006, they worked as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at UBS. In 2007, they transitioned to Oliver Wyman where they served as a Management Consultant until 2012. During this time, they gained valuable experience in strategy and innovation. In 2009, Cheng volunteered as an HIV/AIDS Initiative Consultant at the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. In 2012, they joined Pfizer as the Head of the Strategy & Innovation Group and Director, where they remained until 2017. At Pfizer, they led strategic initiatives and played a key role in driving innovation. In 2017, Cheng became a Co-Founder of Clover Therapeutics and Vice President at Clover Health. Cheng held these positions until 2020 when they founded Character Biosciences, where they currently serve as the CEO. Character Biosciences is a patient-driven drug discovery platform focused on diseases of aging.
