Usha Manchanda Rodrigues, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Policy Officer at the Australian Government Department of Education and an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Charles Sturt University, both since February 2023. Alongside these roles, Usha holds the position of Kopenhaver Fellow at the Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Centre and has been an Adjunct Professor at Manipal Academy of Higher Education since December 2018. Previous appointments include a tenured Senior Lecturer at Deakin University and at the University of Southern Queensland, as well as a long tenure as a Lecturer at Monash University and Curtin University. Usha has extensive experience in journalism and communication research, curriculum design, and international collaboration, complemented by a strong publication record. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Journalism from The University of Queensland and a Master's in Journalism from Michigan State University.
