Prior experience includes Chief Program and Innovation Officer at Richland Library, where leadership focused on innovation and accessibility in library services, and past roles such as Director of Literacy and Learning at Richland Library, Director of Libraries & Arts at Boulder Public Library, and various positions at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. Tallent holds a Master's in Library & Information Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor's in English with an Education Minor from Western Carolina University.
