Steve Evenden

Steve Evenden has a strong background in internal audit, holding various leadership positions in reputable organizations. Steve is currently serving as the Deputy President of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors. Prior to this, they were the Chief Internal Auditor at Nationwide Building Society and held roles such as Interim Chief Internal Auditor and Audit Director - Strategy, Distribution & Servicing. Before joining Nationwide, Steve was the Chief Internal Auditor at MS Amlin and AXA UK, where they held the position of Chief Audit Executive. Earlier in their career, they gained valuable experience at Barclays Bank as the Lead Director of UK Retail & Business Banking - Barclays Internal Audit and Director of Barclaycard. Steve also served as the Head of Audit - UK Retail Banking and Audit Manager - Commercial Banking & Ops at Barclays. Steve began their career as an Audit Supervisor at H W Fisher & Company.

Steve Evenden has a BSc in Geography from The University of Salford, earned from 1995 to 1998. Steve also obtained a Certificate in Leadership from Nottingham University Business School in 2005. Steve has completed a CM IIA from the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors and an AMCT from the Association of Corporate Treasurers in 2014 and 2002 respectively. Additionally, they have acquired an FCA from the ICAEW, achieved between 2013 and the present year. Finally, they hold an ACA from the ICAEW, obtained from 1998 to 2001.
