Tom Foakes

Director of Development & Public Engagement at The Charterhouse

Tom has oversight of the Charterhouse’s public heritage offer including the museum and historic collections, commercial venue hire, fundraising and development, and communications. He has a background in the care and commercial development of historic buildings, public engagement, and museums. Tom was previously Head of Heritage for the Order of St John where he led the transformation of the Order’s medieval headquarters.

The Charterhouse

The Charterhouse has been living the nation’s history since 1348. Founded as a medieval monastery of the Carthusian order, the site became a Tudor mansion, a boys’ school, and an almshouse, which it remains to this day.
