Gordon Chiu has a diverse range of work experience in the field of information technology. Gordon most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Information Technology Services at Chartwell Retirement Residences, where they focused on maximizing the value of retirement residences through innovative technological solutions. Prior to this, Chiu held various positions at Barrick Gold Corporation, including Vice President of Information Management and Technology, where they led a team of 175 individuals across seven countries. At Barrick, they were responsible for implementing organizational changes to improve efficiencies and managed a $90 million IT budget. Earlier in their career, Chiu worked at Fujitsu Canada, where they served as an Associate Director and developed a storage strategy for preserving digital media for a government agency. Gordon also held the role of Director of Technology at Cognicase/Personus Inc, an internet start-up that focused on delivering unique online experiences. Chiu's experience also includes working as a Technical Architect at EDS Consulting Corporation, where they led a team in delivering a multi-year custom development project for a large pensions company in Canada.
Gordon Chiu obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering with a Management Science Option from the University of Waterloo. Gordon studied at the university from 1987 to 1993, focusing on the field of Computer Engineering.
