Wasim Abbas Alwani is an accomplished insurance and reinsurance professional with extensive experience spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the Director and Divisional Director for the Indian Sub Continent at Chedid Re since July 2022, Wasim previously held the role of Business Relationship Manager for Pakistan at Chedid Europe Insurance & Reinsurance Brokerage Limited from October 2020 to July 2022. Prior to that, Wasim worked at Adamjee Insurance Company Limited as Deputy General Manager of the Reinsurance Department, where responsibilities included local and foreign facultative placements and treaty reviews. Wasim's earlier career at Habib Insurance Company Ltd included multiple managerial positions, culminating in Deputy General Manager roles overseeing Property & Risk Management and the Claims Department. Wasim holds an ACII qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute in London, a Diploma in Insurance from the Karachi Insurance Institute, and an MBA in Accounting and Finance from PIMSAT, Karachi, along with additional training from Swiss Re Academy and Zurich Insurance.
