Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith is an experienced professional in public affairs and communications, currently serving as a Public Affairs Policy Advisor at Chegg Inc. since July 2023. Previously, Matthew held multiple roles at the House of Commons from April 2019 to August 2023, including Communications Advisor to John Penrose MP and Parliamentary Researcher. Matthew's experience also includes working as a Researcher for A Blueprint for Better Business, teaching History and Politics at Worth School, and contributing as a Burke Scholar at The Russell Kirk Center. In leadership, Matthew was the Chairman of the University of Edinburgh Conservative and Unionist Association, where responsibilities included strategic planning and fundraising. Matthew earned a Master of Arts degree in History from The University of Edinburgh between 2012 and 2016.
