Carrie Owen has extensive experience in the field of pediatric occupational therapy. Carrie started their career at Women's College Hospital in 1988 as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, where they worked until 1997. In 2000, they founded Sweet Pea Therapy, where they serve as the Owner and Primary Occupational Therapist/Lactation Consultant. Carrie provides assessment and treatment for feeding concerns in infants, children, and teenagers. Additionally, in the same year, they joined CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) as an Occupational Therapist-Program Lead. There, they developed and implemented interprofessional feeding groups for children aged 4 months to 15 years, conducted research on the evaluation of these groups, and provided OT assessment and treatment programs for pediatric feeding disorders.
Carrie Owen received their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Occupational Therapy/Therapist from Queen's University from 1977 to 1981.
