Laurie Cairns, CPA, CHRL has a diverse range of work experience. Laurie is currently appointed as the Director of Operations and Financial Controller in the Department of Pediatrics at CHEO since September 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Financial Controller in the same department from July 2020 to November 2022.

Laurie also held prominent positions at the Canadian Paralympic Committee. From January 2014 to July 2020, they were the Executive Director of Corporate Services, managing financial management, human resources, information technology, and risk management. Before that, they worked as the Director of Finance from May 2012 to January 2014.

Additionally, Laurie had a role as the Director of Finance at the Canadian Bar Association between December 2008 and May 2012, and as the Assistant Controller at RA Centre Ottawa from March 2004 to December 2008. Laurie began their career as an Accountant at Multiview, where they worked from January 2001 to March 2004.

Laurie Cairns, CPA, CHRL, holds a Bachelor's degree in Certified General Accountant from the years 2002 to 2006. Laurie also pursued a certification as a Certified Human Resource Leader from the years 2015 to 2019, specializing in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration.
