Marybeth Colton has a strong background in healthcare, with over 16 years of experience in various roles. Currently, they serve as the Director of Safety and Family Partnership at CHEO since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked at The Royal Mental Health Centre as a Leader in Patient Safety, Quality, and Clinical Risk Management from November 2020 to May 2022.

From 2011 to 2020, Marybeth held multiple positions at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. Marybeth started as a Manager of Patient Care Services from February 2011 to June 2016, then became the Director of Patient Services from June 2016 to February 2019. Marybeth finally took on the role of Clinical Nurse Consultant from March 2019 to November 2020.

Between 2006 and 2011, Marybeth worked at The Ottawa Hospital as a Clinical Manager from September 2007 to February 2011. Prior to that, they served as a Coordinator from 2006 to 2008.

Marybeth Colton has a Master of Arts in Leadership with a Health Specialization from Royal Roads University, which they obtained from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Nursing degree from St. Lawrence College between 1993 and 1995. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science in Health Education from Dalhousie University, which they completed from 1988 to 1992.
