Valerie Albert MHA, CHE has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Valerie is currently serving as the Director of Home and Community Care at CHEO since June 2023. Prior to this role, they held the position of Clinical Manager of Integrated Care Delivery from August 2021 to June 2023 at the same organization. Before that, they worked as a Clinical Manager of Ambulatory Care from August 2020 to September 2021 at CHEO.
Valerie also has experience working at the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) where they served as the Manager of Contracted Provider Programs from June 2019 to August 2020. Prior to this role, they held the position of Senior Integration Specialist from July 2018 to June 2019 and Patient Experience and Risk Specialist from September 2016 to July 2018. In this role, Valerie was responsible for leading quality improvement initiatives and managing high-risk patient situations.
Valerie's career began at the CHEO Research Institute where they served as a Contracts Coordinator from May 2015 to September 2016. Valerie'sresponsibilities included reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts to improve efficiency and satisfaction. Prior to this role, Valerie worked as a Contracts Officer from August 2014 to May 2015 and as a Patient Services Clerk from December 2009 to August 2014 at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).
Valerie Albert obtained a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Regina in 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Diploma in Paralegal Studies from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology between 2012 and 2014. Valerie also holds a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences from the University of Ottawa, completed from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their educational background, Valerie Albert has obtained certifications including Certified Health Executive from the Canadian College of Health Leaders, Quality and Safety from IHI, and Mental Health First Aid from the Mental Health Commission of Canada, all in 2017.
