Monique Velasquez

Monique Velasquez is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as the Gulf of Mexico Exploration General Manager at Chevron since 2004. In this role, Monique leads strategy, planning, and execution for the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico exploration portfolio and collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve corporate objectives. Monique's career at Chevron includes positions such as General Manager of the Global Exploration Review Team, where responsibility encompassed evaluating global exploration risk and volumetric profiles, and Regional Exploration Manager for the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Monique has also held roles in capacity development for earth sciences, well construction planning, and geophysical analysis across various regions, including the Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, and Alaska. Monique holds a Master of Science degree in Geophysics and Seismology from The University of Texas at El Paso and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological and Earth Sciences from the University of New Orleans.
