Brett Chase

Brett Chase is an experienced environmental reporter and assistant editor at the Chicago Sun-Times since May 2020, where in-depth enterprise and breaking news stories on environmental issues are crafted, alongside editing a team focused on race, class, and social justice. Additionally, Brett serves as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago, teaching environmental reporting and writing. Formerly a senior investigative reporter at the Better Government Association from March 2014 to May 2020, emphasis was placed on pollution and public health issues. Brett's career also includes a range of roles at respected organizations such as Informa, the Better Government Association, startup online news media, Crain's Chicago Business, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and Bloomberg News, with a demonstrated history in investigative reporting and editorial leadership. Brett holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Drake University School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
