Carrie Wagener

Carrie Wagener, P.E. is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Deputy Chief Engineer at the Chicago Transit Authority since November 2007, overseeing the owner's engineering team for the $1.3 billion Red and Purple Modernization Phase One Design-Build project. Responsibilities include leading safety and quality initiatives within the Infrastructure Division and implementing the FTA's safety and security certification program. Previously, Carrie held positions of Director, Construction Safety, and Manager of Track Maintenance, supervising a department of 185 employees involved in the inspection, maintenance, and construction of the CTA rail system's track infrastructure. Prior experience includes consulting as a Designer at V3 Companies and serving as a Project Manager for the City of Chicago's Department of Buildings. Carrie earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
