Mara Castiglione

Mara Castiglione is a Quality Assurance and Upstream Development staff member at REITHERA since November 2019, focusing on GMP and development activities for personalized cancer vaccines, enhancing expertise in eukaryotic cells and virus work. Previously, in an Associate Scientist role at GSK Vaccines, Mara consolidated microbiological experience and gained project management skills, overseeing lab activities and documentation. An internship involved developing new fermentation processes for protein production and recovery. Mara completed a Master Thesis Project at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, studying prokaryotic enzymes, and has research experience from the AIRC - Italian Association for Cancer Research and a Bachelor Thesis at Università degli Studi di Palermo on drug mechanisms for Cystic Fibrosis. Mara holds a Master's degree in Biotechnologies for Industry and Scientific Research and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, both from Università degli Studi di Palermo.
