Susan Cunningham is a Board Member of Chord Energy and serves on the Audit Committee and as Chair of the Environmental, Social, and Governance Committee. She had been a Director of Whiting Petroleum Corporation since 2020. Ms. Cunningham also served as Chair of Whiting’s ESG Committee and as a member of Whiting’s Audit Committee. Ms. Cunningham has more than 35 years of oil and gas industry experience and brings strong leadership skills and extensive exploration and production experience and knowledge.
Ms. Cunningham began her career holding a variety of positions at Texaco U.S.A., Statoil Energy, Inc., and Amoco Corporation. She went on to serve at Noble Energy, Inc., as Senior Vice President of Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, and Frontier Ventures, and business innovation. From 2014 to 2017, Ms. Cunningham served as Executive Vice President, EHSR and New Frontiers, for Noble. From 2017 to 2019, Ms. Cunningham served as an Advisor for Darcy Partners, a consulting firm.
Ms. Cunningham holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology and Physical Geography from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. She also completed an advanced management program through Rice University’s Office of Executive Development.
