Roy Smith

Roy Smith has extensive work experience in the gaming and entertainment industry. Roy began their career at Caesars Entertainment Corporation in 2010, where they held various roles including Director of On-property Analytics, Director of Hospitality Analytics, Director of Operational Excellence, Director of Continuous Improvement, Labor Effectiveness Manager, and Planning and Analysis Supervisor. In these positions, they managed financial forecasting, analysis, and budgets for multiple properties, implemented cost-saving initiatives, and improved operational efficiency. Smith then joined Pinnacle Entertainment in 2016 as Director of Operational Excellence and later became the P&A Manager. During their time at Pinnacle Entertainment, they oversaw financial performance improvements for 15 casinos and achieved substantial savings through cost-saving projects. In 2018, Smith joined Penn National Gaming as the Director of Operational Analysis, responsible for managing operational analysis and driving business performance. Most recently, in 2022, Smith joined Churchill Downs Incorporated as the Senior Director of Finance - Gaming.

Roy Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Franklin University in 2003. Roy then pursued an Associate of Science in Business Administration and an Associate of Science in Computer Science from Ivy Tech Community College-South Central, which they completed in 2003. In 2006, Roy obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University Southeast. Roy went on to earn a Master of Science with a concentration in Corporate Finance from Southern New Hampshire University in 2018. Roy also holds several certifications including Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) from the Association for Financial Professionals in 2015, Certified FP&A Professional from the Association for Financial Professionals in 2014, and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from the IMA | Institute of Management Accountants in 2012.
